ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Susan Ruimy.
As a mother, wife, business owner and proud resident of Indian Harbour Beach it is my great honor to run for City Council Seat 3.
My political ambitions are limited but my love for Indian Harbour Beach is not. I have great passion for IHB and want to preserve our small town Beachside charm while helping guide us into the future.

· Protecting our housing market is crucial to maintaining our sense of community. That's why we should prioritize local ownership of homes and short-term rentals. By putting local owners first, we can ensure that our community remains vibrant and welcoming to all

· Let's preserve our parks and beaches. Let's keep our beautiful beaches accessible to residents first and address the homeless presence at our beaches. Together, we can ensure that natural spaces remain a source of pride and enjoyment for generations to come.

· Let's continue to support our police officers, firefighters and first responders with budgets that respect the safety they provide our community and allow for their growth.
· Let's work out the little things that improve the big picture. Expand bike paths throughout the town, ensure the sidewalks near our schools are safe with no large cracks or bumps. Embrace our local art scene with more art festivals, sculptures and murals. Innovate new resources for town revenue.

· Let’s support our local businesses, our schools, our surfers, our skaters, our artists and last but not least, our Gleason Park tortoises!

Above are just a few of my goals that I will bring to you as a Council Member. Along with raising our family in the community of IHB, my husband and I own and operate a small business. I am an avid member of the PTO Board at our local elementary school and a member of the Tree Preservation Board. I also have over 15 years of non-profit business experience. I have the business knowledge along with the passion to always have our community’s best interest at heart.
